Welcome to Ludo’s Corner

Greetings, curious wanderers! I am Ludo, a thoughtful feline with a penchant for quiet mewsings and life’s finer details. Here in my cozy nook of the web, I jot down my observations on adventures, kippers, and the matters that truly matter.

Life is a journey, and I’ve learned that a cat must travel it with style, wit, and just the right amount of whisker-twitching curiosity. Whether I’m dashing through London’s streets with my sister Lulu or pondering the mysteries of a warm sunbeam, you’ll find my thoughts and tales here.

Check back each month for a fresh paw-to-pen update. Until then, stay curious, my friends.

Purrs and salutations,

Ludo

May Days

Hello, dear friends! May has arrived, and our little garden is coming into its own - bursting with colour, buzzing with life, and full of exciting adventures for a curious cat like me (and, of course, Lulu!).

One of the most important days this month is World Bee Day. Lulu and I absolutely love watching the bumblebees as they float lazily around the garden. They’re such important little creatures, and we do our best to admire them from a polite distance - after all, bees are friends, not toys!

Speaking of important days, I must tell you about National Biscuit Day on 29th May. Imagine - an entire day dedicated to celebrating biscuits, my very favourite treat (the cat variety, naturally!). I’m already planning a special biscuit feast.

We’ve also had some new visitors lately - a mother squirrel and her two cheeky babies have been popping by for treats. They don't fancy biscuits (there’s no accounting for taste), but they seem quite happy with seeds and nuts.

And most exciting of all - Grandma is coming for a visit! She’s flying all the way from New Zealand! Last time she was here, Lulu tried to stow away in her suitcase. It didn’t work (it’s hard to hide a Lulu), but we’re sure there will be plenty of cuddles and stories this time around.

Enjoy the sunny, golden days of May, dear friends - whether you’re chasing bees, basking in sunbeams, or sneaking an extra treat (or two)!

Paws and whiskers,
Ludo

Hot Cross Chaos

Greetings readers, April has arrived in its usual flouncy way - a bit of sun, a bit of sleet, and a lot of confusion about what coat to wear (fur is foolproof, obviously). While the humans faff about with daffodils and hay fever, Lulu and I have been busier than ever with our own spring agenda.

Hot Cross Chaos
With Easter came hot cross buns - or, as Lulu saw them, "paws-on pastry." There was a bold attempt to "assist" Angela in the kitchen, which involved Lulu launching herself onto the counter and sliding heroically through a miniature snowstorm of flour. She emerged sporting what can only be described as a ghostly moustache and the wide-eyed expression of someone who’d just unlocked the secrets of the universe in a mixing bowl!

I, naturally, took a supervisory role from the windowsill. Quality control, you see. Someone had to sniff the raisins and determine if they were worthy. (They were not. Raisins are an affront.).

Sun and Squirrels
We’ve resumed our outdoor reconnaissance missions. We’ve noted with some disdain that the garden has been overtaken by squirrels. There are now at least three regulars who seem to think they own the place. Lulu tried diplomacy; I favour silent judgment from behind the watering can.

Spring Cleaning: A Personal Betrayal
April also seems to be the season for “spring cleaning,” which, in our household, translates to: “Let’s move all the furniture Ludo has perfectly furred.” Lulu lost an entire toy mouse in the upheaval, while I lost respect for the vacuum cleaner (again).

So that’s April so far: light, airy, occasionally sticky, and gently absurd. Just how we like it.

Yours in loaf and luxury,
Ludo

Greetings, dear readers! March is here - a month of changing seasons, peculiar human traditions, and endless opportunities for mischief.

Spring is Sprouting (Almost!)  March often feels full of promise - longer, brighter days are on the horizon, and spring is just around the corner, bringing blossoming trees and flowers in bloom. From my windowsill throne, I’ve noticed birds returning, squirrels acting suspicious, and humans sneezing - sure signs that warmer days are coming!

St. Patrick’s Day Shenanigans While humans sip strange green drinks, I’ll be celebrating by sharing my special green pigeon food with my feathered friends. A noble and generous act, if I do say so myself.

Final Words of Wisdom As we march into March (see what I did there?), let’s enjoy the little things - crinkly paper, surprise snacks, and luxurious naps. May your treats be plenty, your naps uninterrupted, and your humans forever at your beck and call.

Paws and whiskers,
Ludo

A Host of Golden Daffodils

Hello, dear readers! Lulu and I have exciting news - Ludo and Lulu Go to Town has won the Golden Wizard Book Prize 2025! We can’t wait to see it reprinted with a shiny gold badge on the cover. To celebrate, Angela gave us a special tuna treat - delicious!

I hope you’re staying warm as winter fades. We’ve been snug in the little pink house, though we braved the frost to check on Lulu’s green car. Luckily, my new wool scarf kept me purr-fectly cozy!

February is a favourite time in the garden for me. The bulbs are starting to sprout, promising spring’s arrival. I’m reminded of Wordsworth’s lovely verse:

"When all at once I saw a crowd,
A host, of golden daffodils."

Angela picked me a daffodil this week - it’s such a cheerful sight during these colder days.

Don’t forget! Our Storybook Star Search is still open until the end of February. Find details on the Feline Fun page and Instagram!

Purrs until next time,
Ludo

Embracing the Year
of the Wood Snake

Hello, friends! Ludo here, ready to whisker you into a fantastic new year. Did you know it’s the Year of the Wood Snake in the Chinese Zodiac? Snakes are known for their wisdom, charm, elegance, and transformation - traits I humbly admit I share. It’s also said they’re rational, calm, thoughtful, and loyal. Sound familiar? I thought so too!

Our new year started in style with a party in the little pink house. Lulu took charge of the cooking while I nobly handled the tasting (someone had to ensure quality control). We had a full house of friends, including the British Blues Brothers, stars of the Jazzy Cats band. Lulu danced the night away to her favourite tune, Lulu’s Back in Town, while I kept things elegant - naturally.

Looking ahead, we’re excited about big plans for the year! Angela is helping us with a new book, and we’re running a competition on our Feline Fun page. Your human can enter your details for a chance to be featured in our next story!

We can’t wait for more adventures, mischief, and maybe even some transformation - just like the wise Wood Snake would recommend.

Stay charming, my friends!
Ludo

Merry Christmas

I hope this festive day finds you all snug, joyful, and surrounded by love (and perhaps a few treats). It’s your favourite feline correspondent, Ludo, here to share a bit of Christmas cheer straight from our cozy corner of the world.

Lulu and I woke up bright and early this morning, eager to see if Santa had made his visit. And let me tell you, the sight under the Christmas tree was enough to make even the most regal of cats leap for joy! The tree sparkled, the scent of pine filled the air, and - oh, the thrill - there was a box just for me!

This wasn’t just any box, mind you. It had travelled all the way from New Zealand. Imagine my delight as I carefully pawed at the wrapping and nudged off the bow to reveal a thoughtful gift from Grandma: a beautifully soft woollen scarf. It’s not just any scarf - it’s warm, stylish, and perfect for keeping me cozy during these chilly days. Plus, now I have a spare for when my other one is in the wash (Grandma always thinks of everything).  Which reminds me of my new favourite joke – What did the hat say to the scarf?  You hang around while I go on ahead.

Wherever you are today, Lulu and I wish you a magical Christmas filled with warmth, happiness, and a few surprises of your own. Remember, the best gifts are those that remind us of the people (and pets!) who make life special.

Purring you all the best this holiday season,
Ludo

A Purr-fect Stocking Filler

Hello, dear friends! As the frosty air nips at our whiskers and the humans start bustling about with ribbons and wrapping paper, it can only mean one thing – the festive season is upon us! And with that, a little shameless (but well-deserved) plug for our book, ‘Ludo and Lulu Go to Town’. If you’re looking for the purr-fect stocking filler for those curious young readers in your life, look no further. Lulu and I promise plenty of adventures, giggles, and perhaps a little feline mischief.

Speaking of mischief, the festive season always brings some irresistible temptations to our home. Our human, Angela, does the oddest thing – she brings a whole tree indoors! Not for climbing, apparently (the nerve), but for decorating with shiny little glass balls. They dangle, glisten, and practically beg for a swipe of the paw. It’s a test of willpower, let me tell you.

In the spirit of giving, Lulu and I plan to hop into her little green car and head to town with our pocket money to purr-chase some gifts. With a bit of luck, Santa Paws might leave something extra special for all of us under that glittery tree. Fingers crossed for a purr-fect surprise!

Well, that’s it from me for this year. Wishing you and all your four-legged friends a very merry Christmas filled with warm cuddles, tasty treats, and plenty of love.

Warm purrs and festive cheer,
Ludo

The Best-Dressed Cat in Town

Greetings, dear readers! As the seasons change and a chill graces the air, I’ve been reflecting on what a stylish yet sensible cat should wear for town adventures.

For outings with my dear sister Lulu, my trusty brown woollen scarf is a must. Soft, warm, and perfectly understated, it keeps the cold at bay as we zip through London’s bustling streets. I keep it safely stored, far from the clutches of moths who admire it as much as I do.

And on particularly brisk days, my tweed cap makes an appearance - functional, with just a touch of flair. My style icon? The effortlessly cool Bill Nighy. Now that’s a cat who knows how to dress!

Remember, fellow felines: less is more. A simple, thoughtful accessory can say it all. Stay warm, stay sharp, and I’ll see you here next month!

Purrs,
Ludo

Lights, Camera, Action

Hello dear readers! Excitement is in the air as we gear up for the launch of our brand-new book. To celebrate, Lulu and I joined forces with Angela, our human, to create a little cinematic masterpiece.

Now, I had grand visions of Hitchcock-inspired suspense. Imagine it: moody lighting, dramatic pauses, and perhaps a nod to The Birds - one of my all-time favourites. Alas, after some deliberation, we opted for a different vibe. The final result? A charming movie in the style of Fritz Lang.

It’s a delightful homage to the golden age of film, complete with dramatic title cards and Lulu’s pièce de résistance - a triumphant toot to close it out. I must say, she has quite the flair for a dramatic finish!

You can watch the video by clicking on the link - do let me know what you think? Until next time, may your adventures be as stylish as a silent film and as thrilling as a Hitchcock classic.

Purrs and applause,
Ludo
